TRIBALI (world music) Whilst placing great emphasis on ethnic rhythms, Tribali incorporate the beauty and pathos of music from the orient. Their diverse use of instruments embraces percussion, flute, guitar and sitar to name a few, whilst the accompanying vocals complete the whole sonic vibe. A powerful stage presence is further energised by their use of visuals thus dramatically stimulating the audience. Releasing their debut album in May 2006, they secured their position as one of Malta's leading artists by sustaining the number one sales charts position for several months. Consistently selling out shows, the band has also performed at major festivals such as Glastonbury, the East Coast Bluesfest in Australia, as well as being instrumental in the successful running of Earth Garden Festival for the third year.
Tribali’s past works were also featured on Petrol Records, World Music Network, The Rough Guide to Indian Lounge, Songlines, CNN, BBC, SBS, Gondwana Sound, Maramundi and many other international media. Their second album ‘The Elephants of Lanka’ which was launched in May 2009 is selling fast and is currently receiving great reviews from all around the globe.
Following their successful album release, their participation in Earth Garden and their fantastic performance alongside Moby the band is enjoying great popularity.
